The overall work environment in Manitoba saw improvement across the board in 2008 according to the MB Check-Up 2009, the eighth annual economic analysis of the province as a place to live, work and invest by the Chartered Accountants of Manitoba.

Manitoba had the second lowest cost of living and the lowest disposable income despite a solid increase over the past year, according to the MB Check-Up report, an annual economic analysis of the province as a place to live, work and invest published by the Chartered Accountants of Manitoba.

Manitoba’s exports slumped, like those in every other jurisdiction over the past year but our province boasted the second highest economic growth rate of all provinces, according to the MB Check-Up, an annual economic analysis of the province as a place to live, work and invest by the Chartered Accountants of Manitoba.
The Accounting Standards Board approved the final accounting standards for private enterprises in Canada. The new standards will be issued by the end of the year and will be available for 2009 reporting for entities that choose to adopt them early.
